Location: Seattle Field Office
Theme: Diveristy and Inclusion

Exhibition
Last year, after I received citizenship in the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), I saw a glass wall with beautiful art and sculptures displayed. As the founder of art non profit, I was inspired by the exhibit, reaching out to this center proposing to hold an exhibition showcasing the artworks of K-12 immigrant students whom I have helped draw. Thankfully, after several contacts and meetings with the amazing intern Mr. Golliet, we created 18 artworks with 10+ students, curating a new exhibition at this center. I hope that our art collection, featuring personal stories of immigrant students, would imbue joy and a sense of identity to those coming to this center in hope of achieving their dreams.

Reflection
" Art has a unique way of bringing people together, healing wounds, and connecting us in ways words cannot. That’s why I wanted to bring art to this center—to inspire hope and a sense of identity for those who come here striving to achieve their dreams. I hope the stories and messages of these young artists resonate with many, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to create a community art space at USCIS." -Jacob L.
This project was featured in the Seattle Office newsletter, and I am proud to display art pieces with which many immigrants can resonate.
