Editorial Cartoon and Writing Club

01
Weekly Meeting
Every Thursday after school, we hold meetings to discuss current global issues and create cartoons and draft essays based on them. Club officers present the most significant social, economic, and political news of the week to the members. Afterward, we have a discussion session—either in the form of a chalk talk or an open verbal discussion—where members share their opinions, helping them gain insights for their cartoons and written drafts. At the end of every year, we submitted the art and writing pieces to art/writing competitions, and we had 7+ winning entries annually for the past 2 years. Additionally, we sometimes play Kahoot and engage in fun activities to ensure that members see the club as a place to enjoy and have a good time.

School Art Show
To support the school art department, I recruited my friends from both art club and leadership class to hold a school-wide art show where we can showcase talents of various art students who have wanted yet never had chance to share their artworks. The duration of the exhibition was one week long, and all the proceeds directly went to the art department.

School Newspaper
End of each year, Editorial Cartoon and Writing Club collected art pieces and writing samples from the members and showcased them in school newspaper. Pouch club facilitated this process, and the members were very proud to share their works with other LW students!
